This was in answer to my question! I asked about the negative sequence and said it was so beautiful and that I always thought of it like the quote from the novel “all that was left was dream making and strange remembrances” and, to me, it was Elio’s dream. I asked what it meant to Luca.
His answer was beautiful and everything I wished for.

He said he saw it as Elio’s dream and said the quote above… he said it nearly didn’t end up in the movie.
