I was walking by Place de la Concorde, when I received this second email from André Aciman, saying he will answer my long email in bits and pieces during his book tour. I had to sit down.

I can’t believe this is happening. Many of you have asked me what I wrote to him in my email, it was quite deep and private so I’d rather not share. I will say that I did not speak much about Call Me By Your Name, but rather about False Papers, and how this book, because of my moving experiences growing up and my obsession with time and nostalgia, has affected me in a cathartic way.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that André Aciman has and will spend time during his busy book tour days to answer an email about my life and my feelings. This is so special.
