okay.
first, the fact that Elio’s dream (or Oliver’s?), was to be able to be together
in public, without hiding, makes me want to cry.

Also, I was wondering who this kid was when I first saw that dream sequence, and after watching the film, again, I think he’s actually one of Elio’s friends or relatives, since he’s seen hanging out with everyone on the scene where Mr. Perlman asks Elio to play something on the piano and he says he doesn’t feel like it.

So
that made me wonder, why would he be included in the dream? It didn’t make much
sense to me at first, but after giving it some thought, I believe the fact that
this kid, who is someone close to Elio, his friend or relative, is seen with
them, laughing and just being together, having a good time, simply shows how
much Elio wanted to be able to just be out, in the open with Oliver, around his
friends, around his family, without having to hide. This dream sequence shows
them having the time of their lives, laughing, hugging, doing everything they wish they could have
done, like being together, in the open, around friends and family.

I DON’T KNOW IF SOMEONE ALREADY POINTED THIS OUT, it’s
just something I realized and it made my heart break, once again.
