Anne | she is the sun

The beautiful thing about Anne is her genuine appreciation for so many things in the world: literature, nature, knowledge, other human beings… Despite her past trauma, she never fails to see true joy and wonder in life. And she shares this with so many people.

Just some of my favorite moments in particular, that weren’t included:

  • Her teaching Jerry to read, because she knows just how important words are in terms of self expression
  • To Marilla when she refuses to accept the money for Green Gables: “Love isn’t charity” and “Sometimes you just have to let people love you”
  • Writing to Jeannie because she didn’t want Matthew to miss out on love (admittedly wasn’t her best move, but her intentions were so sincere)
  • To Cole in being proud of his identity: “Unique means singular and extraordinary” and “It’s not what the world holds for you, it’s what you bring to it”

And as discussed in the analysis of @gilbvrtblythe and @raspberrycordialaddict (which I highly suggest you check out), this is most likely what Gilbert loves most about her. He’s so intrigued in her character. He admires her passion and the life she brought to the simple words of a passage, how she doesn’t back down from a challenge (academic endeavors all the more), and the fact that she’s always full of surprises, especially when she sets out to do the right thing (from charging into a burning house to the #save-miss-stacy mission).

I already know this sounds cheesy, but I thought of her presence to rival that of the sun, as she’s a light all on her own.

Also the music playing is, yes, from Pride and Prejudice asdksj, “Liz on Top of the World.” I couldn’t help it, sorry guys
