If there’s one thing we should take away from this wild fucking ride over the past few months, it is the way that Call Me By Your Name made us feel.
It gave us hope that love without consequence could exist. It gave us hope that love is love. It gave us hope that friendships can exist without the boundaries of age and fame. It gave us hope that parents could wholeheartedly accept their children for who they are without question. It gave us a sense of community, that there are other people in other countries that could relate to a movie as much as we do individually, it gave us hope that the future of filmmaking does not lie in the hands of old white men, it brought us together over bromances or charmie, or the holy trinity of Luca, Armie, and Timmy, it created Crema as this beautiful place that we can always go back to. It renewed our faith in Timmy, and Armie, and Michael, and Luca, and James Ivory. It brought back the beautiful talent of Sufjan Stevens and even convinced him to wear a suit to the oscars (!!!), and it gave us a safe space to hold on to.
