Where, exactly, did Elio get this jumper from? It’s obviously too big to be his, unless it was bought about 4 sizes too big on purpose. It’s also too big to have belonged to his dad. So how did he end up with this jumper?
Who does it look like it belongs to? A big, tall guy. It practically screams ‘boyfriend jumper!’ But we know from the book that Elio has no male exes, so although the origins of the jumper will forever remain a mystery, we can at least content ourselves with knowing that he didn’t get it from an ex-boyfriend.
But who cares what we think? The important question is- where does Oliver think it came from?
The morning after their first time is perhaps the first time Oliver sees this jumper. He’s probably thinking “so we slept together last night, and now he can hardly stand to look at me, and just to add insult to injury he’s clearly wearing his ex’s jumper. Kill me now.“

I kinda thought it was Oliver’s jumper because it was soooo big and as they slept in his rooms… so, boyfriend jumper takes on a new meaning? and Elio looks like a delicate little bird in it…
