look at Oliver’s face (when Elio begins the game) “We almost had sex last night”….
and then he SMIRKS, totally rubbing it in, “Marzi and me”
and being the cocky lil shit he is, purposely throws the newspaper on him, emphasizing that was definitely for Oliver’s ears and not his dads (”power regained”)
(…that is, until Oliver plays him back 10 minutes later)
What I find so interesting in this scene is that Elio first just says he almost had sex, and only in the next sentence specifies it was with a girl – as it he was just teasing Oliver into guessing how he swung with the first remark, only to deliver the blow with the second sentence: With a GIRL! Now swallow that, Americano!
To which Oliver reacts by snogging Chiara right in front of Elio again later that morning.
What I find even more interesting is Olivers face when Elio says “we”. The turn of the head and stopping of chewing.
It totally sounds like Elio is talking to his father about them until he clarifies Marzia.
Yes, 6! When he says “we” it’s like you can hear Oliver’s heart drop to his stomach in disbelief. This scene is amazing.
I lightened this up a bit because this scene is honestly as luscious as the peach scene, these few minutes before discovering the peach, especially if you turn the volume up you can hear every delicate kiss down Elio’s chest, Oliver’s hands sliding to his hips and moving everything away to get into Elio’s shorts to finally discover peach juice …and meanwhile Elio’s halfway between sleep and lust and rising panic as he looks over at the peach lol And Oliver is just going to town with the licking and sucking and trying to figure out this peach mystery lol while Elio is thinkin “oh wait sh**tttt* lol
Timmy: “I like the blue-striped shirt, the blue and white striped shirt from the day where ..with the excursion with the boat and seeing the statue emerge from the water. Almost all of my clothes from the film ..our producer Marco Morabito ..almost everything I wear in the movie is his.”
Luca: “..because the wife of Marco is our costume designer. It’s all in the family. She knows how to make someone dashing.”
Timmy: “And especially with a body like..:”
Luca:“Yeah with a skinny body like you, because Marco is as skinny as he is.”
